I am a dyed in the wool LPGA fan. The LPGA Tour is so exciting as it travels around the world.
I had the pleasure of attending the CN Canadian Open in August in Vancouver.
2012 and again in Edmonton in August of 2013. One reason for attending is Paula Creamer. What a talented and lovely woman!. I have learned that her father served with the American Forces and when there are American Soldiers taking part in a tournament, Paula goes out of her way to talk to and honor these brave persons. In Edmonton, there were Canadian Soldiers taking part in the Tournament.
On the final Sunday, Paula was in one of the last groups to complete the Round. The Canadian Service man was holding the18th flag just off the green.
When the group had putted out, the soldier handed the flag to the caddy, turned and started walking back to his post. He did not see Paula coming over to talk to him. Paula immediately ran up the hill surrounding the green and caught up to the soldier. She talked to him for a short minute and then headed for the scoring tent.
Let me tell you that all eyes were on Paula and her wonderful action in talking to the soldier..There was a momentary pause and then the entire gallery around 18 burst into applause in appreciation of her very honorable action. As a retired Canadian soldier, I was really choked up and very appreciative of her manner to honor any countries soldiers. Thank you Paula. You are not only a great golfer, you are an exemplary person and a great role model for young ladies around the world.
