Australia’s Katherine Hull fired an impressive final-round 70 to cut into Tseng’s lead and make the championship close in the end. Despite not winning the tournament, Hull was pleased with her performance. “It's a good confidence boost,” said runner-up Hull, “lots of positives I can take from the week.” The second-place finish was Hull’s best in an LPGA Major. Her previous best was a tie for eighth at the 2008 Kraft Nabisco Championship. Her previous best finish at the RICOH Women’s British Open was a tie for 40th last year at Royal Lytham. Hull has played solidly in the Majors all season. She finished tied for 24th at the Kraft, tied for 34th at the LPGA Championship and tied for 41st at the U.S. Women’s Open.
