Intern Testimonials
Ashley Levister - Business Intelligence
"Working within the Business Intelligence department with the LPGA has been very rewarding, offering a unique blend of data analytics and sports management techniques. This role has allowed me to leverage insight into key decisions that shape the future of women's golf, contributing to the overall growth and popularity of the sport. The satisfaction of learning and see data-driven strategies come to life, has been an incredible learning experience and opportunity. This learning experience has been an amazing gateway into the field of sport and I will certainly carry my accumulated knowledge into my future career endeavors."
Aidan Kane - Communications
"This summer has been an incredible experience interning with the LPGA, offering me the opportunity to dive into a variety of roles within the communications department. It has been amazing being able to work with so many different parts of the team and getting to learn about everyone's unique positions. Among the many highlights of my internship, one memory that stands out was working on site at the Dana Open. It was awesome seeing how much work gets put in behind the scenes to run and produce valuable content at a tournament. Having the opportunity to learn more about the players and their career highlights when contributing to daily tournament notes, highlighting major storylines within the tournament, and getting to interview various players, including some who will be competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, is an experience that I will never forget. On top of the Dana Open being such a memorable event for myself, I was part of such a great team that offered me a tremendous amount of guidance and support that I am extremely grateful for."
Leonard Marinaccio - Communications
"I have had a great experience during my statistics internship with the LPGA Communications team. The work I’ve done with historical data verification and current ranking projections has given me a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the value of recording data. We are able to track the progression of the league and contextualize modern successes in ways that can more effectively engage our players and fans, largely because of the hard work and effort that the LPGA Founders, and many women after them, put in to collecting data almost 75 years ago. I am confident that the work I have done will be similarly useful for generations to come. The possible applications for this data in the future are rapidly growing, and I am thrilled to have been a part of such an exciting time in women’s golf."
Faith McKinney - Girls Golf
"As the 2024 LPGA Foundation intern, I have had an incredibly enriching and fulfilling experience. Throughout my internship, I helped create mid-year reports and reached out to golf courses for the Member for a Day auction, contributing to our fundraising efforts. A highlight was traveling to Seattle for the Clearview Legacy Benefit at Sahalee Country Club, where I had the honor of meeting Rene Powell and Mariah Stackhouse while helping to set up and any other tournament operation needs. Additionally, I traveled to New York for the LPGA Amateurs Championship at Bethpage, where I assisted sponsors with setting up their stations, served as an unofficial on-site rule official, and helped with the setup and takedown on-site. I sat in on communications with the course about our tournament needs. Beyond these events, I worked on various projects such as assisting the LPGA Amateurs with partnerships by emailing potential prospects, working with Canva for design tasks, creating Excel sheets, and learning how to use Box files. Throughout this internship, I have enjoyed every moment and the multitude of new skills I have acquired and enhanced. Although I am saddened to see this experience come to an end, I am confident that the LPGA has thoroughly prepared me for my future career in golf."
Amanada Murphy - Marketing
"As the Marketing Intern, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience during an exciting time for the LPGA. I worked on a variety of tasks including 75th Anniversary planning, a rebrand, building a loyalty program, and planning fan experiences and activations for future events. My supervisors ensured that I was included in meetings and my ideas were heard, and I truly felt like a part of the team. It was a privilege to learn about the dynamic world of golf and marketing, and I can't wait to see our visions come to life. I am extremely grateful for the insight into a women's professional sports league that I received, and I can't wait to use what I learned as I continue to grow my career. "
Oscar Ochoa - Sales/Partnerships
"During my summer at the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), I worked as a partnership intern in the Corporate Partnership department. This experience was truly transformative, allowing me to collaborate with a remarkable team. My role consisted of a variety of projects that deepened my understanding of the sports industry, such as conducting an asset inventory check for each partner, researching and identifying potential companies for future partnerships, analyzing best practices from other sports teams and leagues for the 75th anniversary, and pitching a potential company to partner up with. These hands-on experiences have equipped me with valuable skills I will carry forward in my career. I am deeply grateful to my managers, T.J. Goco, Caen Healy, and the CP team, for their mentorship and guidance. Thank you to everyone at the LPGA for an incredible journey; being part of such a vibrant organization was an honor!"
Michela Jones - Talent and Culture
"During my summer as the Talent & Culture intern at the LPGA, I gained valuable experience in areas such as recruiting and hiring talent, employee engagement and performance management. Working with such a passionate, skilled, and caring team allowed me to actively contribute to projects such as refining the employee relocation policy and sharing my perspective for updates on our Careers site. This internship helped me to develop my critical thinking and public speaking skills as well as enhanced my interest in the HR profession."
