Minjee Lee has long been known for her on-course prowess, having won 10 times on the LPGA Tour – including two majors – and being ranked as high as No. 2 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking.

But after this week, she can also count Netflix star as a little tick on her resume.

Lee, who opened the HSBC Women’s World Championship with a 2-under 70, was a big part of the fifth episode of the third season of the popular Netflix golf docuseries Full Swing, which dropped Monday.

The episode, titled “Two Tickets to Paris,” mostly focused on American Wyndham Clark along with Lee’s brother Min Woo Lee, as they aimed to make their respective Olympic teams.

Minjee was prominently featured as an interview subject – talking about her brother – while her career highlights were also on display.

In the end, Minjee and Min Woo became the first brother-sister duo in Olympic golf history to both make their teams. They both got to represent Australia in Paris last summer.

While Lee played down her acting chops, she said it was nice to be portrayed exactly the way she is. Her brother has become a pseudo social-media star over the last 18 months or so – amassing more than 630,000 followers on Instagram.

“I thought it was nice. It was just a little more insight into sort of his social media side and obviously him off the golf course, as well. It's nice that the fans and the people who are outside of golf can kind of relate to what he's like usually,” Lee said. “I think if people thought I was like, something else, I'm not. That's exactly what I am like. No surprises there. I think it was nice.

“It was just a nice episode, and I think I talk a little bit more how great it is to see him living out his dream and that's great.”

While there’s an opportunity to watch Lee off the course now, on the course at the HSBC Women’s World Championship opener, Lee is right there after 18 holes. Lee sits just two shots back of the lead held by A Lim Kim.

Kim shot a 4-under 68 to lead by one over Charley Hull. Lee is part of a four-way tie for third at 2 under.

All the action Thursday came in Lee’s opening 10 holes. She birdied No. 1 but gave it right back with a bogey on No. 3. She then birdied No. 5 but gave that one right back with another bogey on No. 6. Lee would go on to add circles on her scorecard on both Nos. 8 and 10, though, and strung off a run of eight straight pars to close out her day.

Although that may seem like a benign way to finish, on a day when the winds were swirling at Sentosa Golf Club Lee will happily take it.

“The wind was a little trickier today. I don't think we played or practiced in higher wind as strong as it was at times,” Lee explained. “Other than that, the greens are always in really great condition, and the course was in great condition despite maybe some of the rain that they had. I think I scrambled really well today. Made a bunch of birdies and a bunch of bogeys, as well.

“Hopefully I can get a little more consistent scoring come the next few days.”

This marks Lee’s third start of the season, having notched an impressive tie for fourth at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions thanks to a final-round 62 – her career-low round on the LPGA Tour. That was also the low round of the week at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club by three shots.

It was a bit of a quieter campaign for Lee in 2024 as she went winless for the first time since the COVID-19-impacted 2020 season. She won twice in 2023 including the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G and the BMW Ladies Championship.

She’s off to a great start this week in Singapore, though. And while she may be a Netflix newbie, she is no stranger to the top of LPGA leaderboards.
