The 2025 Chevron Championship is all about history for the Epson Tour alumni in this year’s field. Some are teeing it up in their first career major tournament, but all of them have the opportunity to capture the 50th major title held by a former Epson Tour athlete. Since 1983, 126 Epson Tour alumni have claimed 404 titles on the LPGA Tour, including 49 Majors.

Sweden’s Ingrid Lindblad and Madelene Sagstrom captured the most recent titles at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro and T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards, respectively. Sagstrom graduated as Player of the Year from the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA in 2016 and has since won twice on the biggest stage in women’s golf.

Lindblad, despite being a rookie in 2025, has been a notable name early on the LPGA Tour. The 25-year-old was a decorated amateur, ranking No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking before turning professional and participating in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur four times between 2021 and 2024.

She made her professional debut at the Epson Tour’s FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship last season and found herself in the winner’s circle just six starts later at the Tuscaloosa Toyota Classic. Despite not playing a full season, Lindblad struck while the iron was hot and put herself in the sixth spot in the season-long Race for the Card standings, moving on to the LPGA Tour in 2025.

“Epson (Tour) is competitive. You have to shoot 15-under in three rounds to win out there. You know, 10- or 15-under, and sometimes that's not even enough,” said Lindblad following her win at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. “I think that was a good test after college and a good little step on the staircase in between.

“And then obviously come out here, and I think one of the coaches for the Swedish team looked at some stats. He was like, ‘Alright, people who have come out from Epson tend to do pretty well out here.’ I think that was good preparation to come out here.”

The last major title claimed by an Epson Tour alum was Nelly Korda at the 2024 Chevron Championship. The 2016 graduate is defending this week, but with emerging talent and fresh faces from the most recent graduating class, anyone could write history this week in The Woodlands, Texas.
