The 2023 season was one to remember for Robyn Choi, who played in 21 events on the Epson Tour and made every cut in that span. A runner-up finish at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout marked her best result of the season and was one of six top 10s she earned last year.

However, even though she made every cut in 2023, Choi found herself at the Final Qualifying portion of 2023 LPGA Q-Series after ending her season at No. 12 in the Race for the Card.

Final Qualifying won’t be considered an official win for any athlete who earns medalist honors, but it is still one of the most important events of the season with a field comprising of LPGA Tour winners, Epson Tour winners and even major championship winners. Playing well and finishing ahead of everyone in a field of that caliber can solidify an athlete’s place among the best.

Choi added her name to the list of medalists at Final Qualifying in 2023, playing 108 holes in 29-under, three shots better than anyone else. Now, she finds herself right around the top of the leaderboard once again in 2024, sitting in a tie for 16th through 54 holes.

“I definitely have good memories coming in,” said Choi. “I know that the course with the weather conditions can be tough. But just knowing that I played pretty well out here before, and having that confidence is pretty big, I think, coming into Q-School, so it definitely helped us. I had good images going into some of these holes, so I think that really helps.”

The LPGA Tour 2024 season started off well for Choi, who finished T16 at the LPGA Dive On Championship. Unfortunately, that would wind up being her best finish of the year, as Choi went on to make nine more cuts for the rest of the year in 19 total starts. The middle part of the season is where the struggles really occurred for the 26-year-old, as she missed seven cuts in eight starts. But Choi found her game towards the back half of the year, making six cuts in the last seven events, with a T25 finish at the FM Championship.

The late surge was not enough for the Australian to secure her status on the LPGA Tour for 2025, but it has given her the confidence she needed to return to Final Qualifying and put together another performance that will send her right back to the Tour.

“The last part of my season wasn't too bad,” explained Choi. “I feel like if I can just keep playing the way I am right now and get my card again, I think I can take some revenge. I feel like I'm a little bit more comfortable going into next year."
