The Paris Olympics are already underway, with the men’s Olympic golf competition concluding on Sunday. Now, the best female golfers in the world will take center stage at Le Golf National. Of the 60 players in the field, six of those athletes are currently Epson Tour members and are vying for a spot on the podium in Paris. Check out who from the LPGA’s Official Qualifying Tour is in the field and where they stack up ahead of the fourth women’s golf competition at the Paris Olympics:
First Appearances
Dottie Ardina
Hometown: Laguna, Philippines
Age: 30
Olympic Appearance: Debut
Ardina is making her first start at the Olympic Games and is doing so at seemingly the perfect time, as the 30-year-old has played high-level golf for most of the 2024 season. The Philippines native secured a T7 finish at the 2024 Dana Open on the LPGA Tour and has made three out of five cuts this season on that circuit. While competing on the Epson Tour this year, Ardina has made four of five cuts with four top-15 finishes, including a runner-up showing at the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic.
Ana Belac
Hometown: Portoroz, Slovenia
Age: 27
Olympic Appearance: Debut
Belac spent her 2024 season chasing down a spot in the Olympics by traveling all over the world to secure points in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The chase was successful as she is a first-time Olympian in Paris and will be representing her native Slovenia. Her season on the Epson Tour has been steady, with Belac making all eight of her cuts this season and earning a runner-up finish at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. Ashley Lau
Hometown: Bintulu, Malaysia
Age: 24
Olympic Appearance: Debut
Lau has spent her first two years as a professional on the Epson Tour, collecting two top-10 finishes over her rookie and sophomore seasons. The Malaysia native will represent her country for the first time in the Olympics, coming off of eight made cuts in her 2024 season. The 2022 Big Ten Golfer of the Year likely has the least amount of professional experience of the group of Epson Tour athletes competing in France but is looking to make a name for herself at Le Golf National.
Second or Third Appearance
Diksha Dagar
Hometown: New Delhi, India
Age: 23
Olympic Appearance: 2nd
Dagar is in her rookie season on the Epson Tour but has been a professional since 2019, competing on the Ladies European Tour. During her time on the LET, Dagar has amassed two victories and 17 total top-10 finishes. She is making her second appearance in the Olympics after competing at the 2020 Tokyo Games, where she finished T50.
Alena Sharp
Hometown: Hamilton Ontario, Canada
Age: 43
Olympic Appearance: 3rd
Sharp has the most professional experience of this group of six Epson Tour athletes, turning pro in 2005. Over that time, the Canadian has recorded 16 top-10 results on the LPGA Tour and earned 16 top 10s on the Epson Tour, two of which are victories. Now, entering her third Olympic Games, Sharp is eying her best finish to date in the Olympics and will be trying to beat her solo 30th showing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Mariajo Uribe
Hometown: Bucaramanga, Colombia
Age: 34
Olympic Appearance: 3rd
Uribe, like Sharp, is competing in her third Olympic Games in Paris. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Uribe finished T19, her best career result at the Games. Throughout her time on the LPGA Tour, the Colombian has 14 career top-10 finishes, with a career best third place showing coming at the 2015 Manulife LPGA Classic. That same year, Uribe won two gold medals while representing Colombia in the Pan American Games, in both the team and individual events.
