Between the Epson and LPGA Tours, only five Filipino athletes are competing this week. Compared to American athletes, this number may seem small, but among the 24 countries represented, they have the sixth-biggest representation at the Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic. And they are a small but mighty group.
In Scottsdale, Ariz., on the Epson Tour, Clariss Guce, Pauline Rel Rosario and Dottie Ardina maneuvered the Champions Course at TPC Scottsdale with ease, finishing the opening 36 holes T14 or better.
- Clariss Guce (-13, 3rd)
- Pauline Del Rosario (-9, T4)
- Dottie Ardina (-6, T14)
The trio has recorded two eagles, 30 birdies and nine bogeys over two days, and each athlete is in a good position to climb the leaderboard on Saturday and Sunday for a chance at the 2024 title. Despite there being $400,000 on the line with a $60,000 winner’s check, the largest purse in Epson Tour history, the goal of playing your best remains the same.
“I’m always grateful to play any weekend golf,” said Rosario. “It doesn't mean that we have a bigger purse this week that you do something special. I think we just stick to our game plan and just play the best we can out here.”
Tee times for Guce, Del Rosario and Ardina are as follows:
- Ardina – 11:50 a.m.
- Del Rosario – 12:30 p.m.
- Guce – 12:50 p.m.
