Quarcelino is honored by the LPGA T&CP Executive Committee after more than 40 years as a teaching professional
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Aug. 21, 2019 – Nancy Quarcelino, a member of the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals (T&CP) Hall of Fame who has coached players on both the LPGA Tour and the PGA Tour, joins an elite group of her peers as the recipient of the 2019 Ellen Griffin Rolex Award.
The Ellen Griffin Rolex Award, instituted by the LPGA T&CP Membership in 1989 to honor the late teaching professional Ellen Griffin, recognizes an individual, male or female, who made a major contribution to the teaching of golf and who emulates Griffin's spirit, love and dedication to students, teachers, teaching skills and the game of golf.
"I am extremely honored to be recognized as the recipient of the 2019 Ellen Griffin Rolex Award," Quarcelino said. "I want to thank Rolex for their support of this award by recognizing those of us who dedicate our careers to continue the growth of the game for future generations. I strive to provide golfers a different experience by the approach I take in teaching and coaching. I, myself, continue to be a student of the game, always learning and aspiring to be an even better teacher tomorrow than I am today. It is because of women like Ellen Griffin, and the vision she had for golf instruction, that we are lifted up and allowed to dream bigger. Thank you to the LPGA for continuing to lead the way for all teachers to be their best."
Quarcelino has been recognized as a leader and expert in her field within the golf industry during a career as a golf teacher that spans more than 40 years. She was the assistant golf coach at Florida State University from 1977-1979, and head golf coach at Western Kentucky University from 1979-1986. A member of both the LPGA and the PGA of America, she held the position of head professional/general manager at Indian Hills Country Club in Bowling Green, Kentucky from 1979-1986 before becoming the head professional at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee, from 1986-1992.
In 1992, she started the Nancy Quarcelino School of Golf at Hermitage Golf Course. For the past 27 years, the school has been the mainstay for golf education in Middle Tennessee and the surrounding areas with developmental programs for golfers of all ages and levels of ability. The school is now located at Gaylord Springs Golf Links in Nashville, Tennessee and attracts players from all over the world. During the winter months, Quarcelino is the featured Top 100 instructor at the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She also provides multi-day schools conducted by the Nancy Quarcelino School of Golf staff at this same location.
A Class A LPGA and PGA teaching professional, Quarcelino is an LPGA Top 50 Teacher and was ranked in GOLF Magazine's Top 100 Teachers list from 2000-2016. "At the Nancy Quarcelino School of Golf, we dedicate our lives to helping players fulfill their dreams of becoming the golfer to which they aspire to be," said Quarcelino. "Every program we created over the past 27 years was done to provide the best environment for learning. Our mission is for golfers to 'Experience a Different Approach to a Better Game'. We strive to be different in our approach to teaching the game."
