FOX Sports to present two “Epics” films, Celebration of Champions and more than 150 hours of coverage
LIBERTY CORNER, N.J. (April 16, 2018) – FOX Sports, the domestic broadcast partner of the United States Golf Association, will air more than 150 hours of live coverage across nine 2018 USGA championships, including more than 45 hours on FOX, FS1 and FOX Deportes and continuous live streaming on FOX Sports Go from the 118th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, in Southampton, N.Y. FOX Sports will also provide live coverage from the U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Senior Women’s Open, four USGA amateur championships and the 40th Curtis Cup Match.
FS1 will broadcast the “Celebration of Champions” from 4:30-6 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 12 from Shinnecock Hills. The newly-created “Celebration of Champions” is a four-hole exhibition that will highlight 2017 USGA champions. Four-time U.S. Open champion Jack Nicklaus will headline the event and help launch the festivities.
Two films in the “Epics” series will be featured around U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Open coverage. “Two Winners,” which will air on FS1 from 8-9 p.m. EDT on May 31, tells the story of Se Ri Pak and amateur Jenny Chuasiriporn and their magical duel in the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open. “Tiger and Rocco” features the dramatic Monday playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate to determine the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. The film will be televised on FOX from 1-2 p.m. EDT on June 3 and on FS1 from 9-10 p.m. on June 4.
Additionally, the USGA will provide live streaming from the U.S. Open on its digital platforms – usopen.com and the U.S. Open app, as well as live streaming of the U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur on usga.org. The USGA’s global digital coverage will include exclusive live action on three channels – two featured groups channels and a featured holes channel – on usopen.com and the U.S. Open app during the first and second rounds of the U.S. Open (June 14-15). The USGA will also broadcast this year’s U.S. Open to more than 190 countries and territories on six continents through its international broadcast partners.
Beginning in 2018, Rolex will be the exclusive presenting partner of coverage for eight USGA championships, including the U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open and U.S. Amateur. Rolex’s commitment will allow an uninterrupted broadcast of these championships, providing fans hours of continuous live action.

FOX’s schedule commences with the 73rd U.S. Women’s Open at Shoal Creek, in Shoal Creek, Ala. The first two rounds will be televised on FS1 from 3-8 p.m. EDT on May 31-June 1. FOX will air the third and fourth rounds on June 2-3 from 2-7 p.m. EDT.
U.S. Open coverage begins with the Sectional Qualifying Show on FS1, which will air at 10 p.m. EDT on Monday, June 4. U.S. and England sectional qualifiers, 11 in all, will be contested on that date. Live championship coverage will begin at noon EDT on Thursday, June 7 when groupings and tee times are announced on FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, featuring FOX Sports lead golf analyst Paul Azinger. FS1 will broadcast “Wednesday at the U.S. Open” on June 13 from 9:30 a.m.-noon EDT.
The first round of the U.S. Open on June 14 will air on FS1 from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. EDT, while the second round on June 15 will air on FS1 from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. EDT. The opening two rounds will be followed by coverage on FOX from 4:30-7:30 p.m. EDT each day. FOX will provide coverage of the third round on Saturday, June 16, from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. EDT and of the fourth round and a playoff, if necessary, on Sunday, June 17, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. EDT.
All four rounds of the 39th U.S. Senior Open at The Broadmoor (East Course), in Colorado Springs, Colo., will air on FS1. The first round on June 28 is scheduled from 4-9 p.m. EDT and the second round on June 29 will air from 3:30-8:30 p.m. EDT. FS1 will broadcast the third and fourth rounds on June 30-July 1 from 4-9 p.m. EDT.
FS1 will televise the final two rounds of the inaugural U.S. Senior Women’s Open at Chicago Golf Club, in Wheaton, Ill. The third round on July 14 and fourth round on July 15 will air each day from 4-6 p.m. EDT.
FOX and FS1 will cover the 118th U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course, in Pebble Beach, Calif. FS1 will provide coverage of the match-play rounds at Pebble Beach, starting with the first round on Aug. 15 from 5-8 p.m. EDT. Second- and third-round matches will air on Aug. 16, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. EDT, and quarterfinal matches on Aug. 17 from 7-10 p.m. EDT. FOX will broadcast the semifinal matches on Aug. 18 from noon-3 p.m. EDT, and the 36-hole championship match on Aug. 19, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. EDT.
Coverage of the 118th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at The Golf Club of Tennessee, in Kingston Springs, Tenn., will air on FS1, beginning with the first round of match play on Aug. 8 from 4-7 p.m. EDT. Second- and third-round matches will air on Aug. 9, from noon-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. EDT, and quarterfinal matches on Aug. 10 from 4-7 p.m. EDT. The semifinal matches on Aug. 11 will air on FS1 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. EDT. The following day’s 36-hole championship match will be televised on FS1 from 2-5 p.m. EDT.
FS1 will also provide coverage of the 71st U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club, in Springfield, N.J., the 38th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Charlotte Country Club and Carolina Golf Club, in Charlotte, N.C., and the 40th Curtis Cup Match at Quaker Ridge Golf Club, in Scarsdale, N.Y.
Coverage from the U.S. Junior Amateur semifinal matches on July 20 will air from 2-4 p.m. EDT. FS1 will also televise the championship match on July 21, from 1-4 p.m. EDT. U.S. Mid-Amateur semifinal and championship match FS1 coverage will air Sept. 26 and 27, respectively, both from 2-4 p.m. each day. The Curtis Cup Match, a biennial competition between female amateur teams from the United States and Great Britain and Ireland, will be conducted on June 8-10. First-and second-day coverage will be shown from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. EDT. The Curtis Cup’s third day will air from 1-6 p.m. EDT.
