When In-Kyung Kim checked her bags with American Airlines in January, that was the last time she saw her golf clubs. Until this week.

After a series of failed attempts to recover her missing clubs from the airline, Kim took the matter into her own hands. During the Tour’s stop in Singapore, she recorded a video with TV commentator Alison Whitaker, who shared it on her Twitter account. Three fans, Jacky Barfield, Jeff Fenstermacher and Paul Sumagaysay, watched the segment and contacted the Carlsbad police. They spotted Kim’s clubs for sale at a nearby Play It Again Sports sporting goods store. The major champion’s equipment was selling for $69.99.

Barfield purchased Kim’s staff bag from the store and Fenstermacher and Sumagaysay helped get the remaining items to her. Kim was able to recover her golf bag as well as some of it's contents - five clubs, which included her wedges, a range finder and training aids. Kim joked with LPGA.com she was considering playing with just those five clubs at this week’s Kia Classic. She doesn’t work with just one club manufacturer, so she has struggled over the last several months to replace her missing equipment. Achieving the same loft and lies have been a particular challenge, Kim told LPGA.com.

Whitaker tells LPGA.com that the major champion sent her a message thanking for helping recover her missing gear and expressed her excitement about being able to have some closure.
