World No. 3 Inbee Park, No. 5 Lexi Thompson, Past Champion Brooke Henderson Headline a Host of the LPGA’s Best at Columbia Edgewater Country Club

PORTLAND, OREGON, August 24, 2018 – Six of the top-10 players in the world will tee it up next week when the LPGA Tour returns to Columbia Edgewater Country Club next week for the 47th playing of the Cambia Portland Classic.
World No. 3 Inbee Park, a 19-time LPGA winner including seven major championships, headlines the field. She is joined by World No. 4 So Yeon Ryu, World No. 5 Thompson, World No. 6 Shanshan Feng, World No. 7 Shanshan Feng and World No. 9 Georgia Hall, who earned her maiden victory at this month’s RICOH Women’s British Open, a major championship.
Park’s storied career has included four separate stints as the top-ranked player in the world as well as victories at four of the LPGA’s five major championships. Winner of the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, Park will be making her first appearance in Portland since 2012 when she tied for second.

Other players of note in the field include two-time past champion Brooke Henderson; 8-time Tour winner and two-time major champion Brittany Lincicome, who recently accepted a sponsor exemption to the PGA TOUR’s Barbasol Championship; Sei Young Kim, who set the LPGA’s 72-hole scoring record at 31-under-par with her victory at the 2018 Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic; and Pernilla Lindberg, who earned her first Tour win and major championship at the 2018 ANA Inspiration.
In addition to Henderson, past champions in the field include LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Juli Inkster, 2009 winner Mi Jung Hur and 2014 winner Austin Ernst.

Entering its 47th year, the Cambia Portland Classic is the longest running non-major event on the LPGA Tour. The 72-hole tournament will again return to Portland’s Columbia Edgewater Country Club and will feature a purse of $1.3 million. The tournament will again be televised by the Golf Channel and distributed to more than 170 countries.
Since its inception in 1972, the Portland Classic has been bringing the top women golfers from around the world to Portland, raising more than $18 million for charities, and has become the premier annual professional golf tournament in the Pacific Northwest.
