Michelle Wie says she is “feeling good” ahead of a busy two week stretch in Scotland for the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and the Ricoh Women’s British Open.

The American had to withdraw from the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open after just one hole of her second round due to neck spasms and has been recovering ever since in preparation for a fortnight of links golf.

“The injections went really well in New York, and (I’m) feeling good. (I’m) Really excited to be out here playing,” Wie said. “I just went into the doctor's office (in my time off) and pretty much just a lot of rehab, physio, a lot of ice and rest.

“I've always wanted to do this, to spend two weeks here. It's so much fun. I think one week is not enough to really understand links golf and try to do well here. But it's amazing.

“These two golf courses, Dundonald and Kingsbarns, doesn't get much better than that. I'm really excited. Hopefully the weather stays okay. But the rain and the wind is what we're here for, so we're prepared for anything.

“It's so different. It just feels like golf how it should be played. It kind of takes you in a time capsule back in the day and it's pretty neat. It's just completely different.”

During her break, Wie also took part in a promotional shoot for Nike alongside Canadian tennis star Genie Bouchard. The duo surprised fans on social media with Wie giving Bouchard tips on her golf swing, while Bouchard returned the favor by teaching the 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion a thing or two about tennis.

“I did a fun shoot with Nike up in New York which is kind of fun,” Wie said. “It was a cool day because I got to be part of her world and she got to be part of mine. It was a great crossover day. (I) Got to teach her how to play golf. It was her first time on the range and she did really awesome, and then she gave me a couple of points for tennis.

“Obviously I couldn't do much for my neck. I was really bummed not being able to really play, but yeah, it was a fun day.”

Wie’s best finish at the Ricoh Women’s British Open came in 2005 where she finished in T3 as an amateur. She will be looking to use this extra week of links golf to prepare for the fourth major of the year and improve on her best finish as a professional, which was a tie for 11^th in 2009.
