Concert on the Course Added to Weeklong Events
Albany, NY – The Fuccillo Kia Championship and WGNA are proud to announce that Nashville Country Recording Artist Frankie Ballard will be holding a concert at Capital Hills Golf Course after the first round of the Fuccillo Kia Championship.
Ballard, who has had a string of #1 singles with “Helluva Life” Young & Crazy and “Sunshine & Whiskey,” will perform on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 7:30 PM after the first round of the LPGA Epson Tour Tournament at Capital Hills Golf Course in Albany. The concert, titled “CONCERT ON THE COURSE” which is open to the public, will be held on the golf course near the 18th green and the clubhouse.
“A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to attend the PGA’s Dick’s Sporting Good Open in Binghamton. Every year, as part of their tournament week, they bring in a national recording artist and hold a concert on the golf course near the 18th green. They draw thousands of spectators from all over New York and surrounding states who come to enjoy the championship golf and concert that follows the first round of the tournament. We are trying to duplicate that here in Albany,” said Tournament Chair Jim Miller.
The Fuccillo Kia Championship is a showcase of some of the best young professional golfers in the world as well an opportunity to provide great entertainment for our spectators and sponsors. We are truly excited to partner with the top country radio station in the area, ‘107.7 GNA’, to bring Frankie Ballard, one of the best young country artists, to Capital Hills.
I would thank Mayor Sheehan for supporting women’s professional golf and allowing us to host the Epson Tour at one of the best public courses this area has to offer,” stated Miller.
“We are very excited to be the media sponsor for this tournament and this concert event,” said Jake Demmin – Market President of Townsquare Media Albany.
“The success of a Epson Tour tournament is predicated on the support of the community and we think adding a marquee performer like Frankie Ballard will only bring more in the Albany community out to Capital Hills Golf Club to enjoy great music and great golf,” said Epson Tour Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “Albany is one of the longest running tournaments on our schedule and I love that the tournament committee continues to push the envelope and raise the profile of the event."
