After the conclusion of the ANA Inspiration, the eight countries that will compete in the second playing of the UL International Crown which will be held on July 21-24 at the Merit Club outside Chicago were announced.
Based on the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, the eight countries that will compete are - Republic of Korea, United States, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Australia, England, and China. Now while the countries have been determined their final seed and team members are still up for grabs.
Following the conclusion of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June, the four highest ranked players from each of the eight qualifying countries will make up their respective teams for the matches. The eight countries will be seeded #1 through #8, and they will be divided into two pools based on the cumulative team score of the four players’ Rolex World.
We saw some movement in the team standings after last week's Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic Presented by CTBC with Team Australia moving into the sixth position in the team standings bumping England to the seventh spot and China to eight.
There continues to be movement on the bubble for Teams United State and England, with Gerina Piller and Brittany Lincicome trading position and moving into the fourth spot for the United States and Jodi Ewart Shadoff moving into the fourth team spot for England over the past month. Other players to watch on the bubble for teams Republic of Korea, United States and Japan are Amy Yang, Brittany Lincicome, and Erika Kikuchi all sitting in the top bubble spot within a few points of taking that fourth position on the team.
