As the April 4th deadline approaches we continue to see movement by the teams and players on the bubble as teams begin to take shape for the second playing of the UL International Crown. The Republic of Korea and the United States have a strong hold on the top two spots, sitting one and two respectively in the standings.
Team Thailand is holding an edge over Team China for the final spot in the standings. Heading into this week at the Honda LPGA Thailand Team Thailand will be looking to move up in the standings and to secure their spot as one of the eight qualifying teams.
With only the top-four players in the Rolex Rankings from each country qualifying for a team every event counts. The four players who are currently qualified to play in this year's event are all in the field this week: Pornanong Phatlum, Ariya Jutanugarn, Moriya Jutanugarn and Thidapa Suwannapura.
After last week's ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, teams are shuffling, with Team Australia moving into the 6th position in the team standings bumping Sweden and Thailand to 7th and 8th respectively. Karrie Webb moved up five spots, and Su-Hyun Oh moved up 23 spots to help Team Australia make a jump in the standings.
Also seeing some movement on the bubble is Team Japan. Haru Nomura moved into the third position after her win at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, bumping Ayaka Watanabe into a bubble spot.
