DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., September 17, 2015 – Teresa Zamboni, a highly respected and recognized member of the LPGA for more than 20 years, is the recipient of the 2015 Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award, which recognizes an LPGA professional who gives back to the game in the spirit of Nancy Lopez.
Zamboni currently teaches at Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club in Port Orange, Fla., and is the co-owner of Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures, whose mission is to provide the opportunity to learn from the most recognized female golfer of all time and the instruction team. In addition, Zamboni serves on the Board of Directors of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida from 2004 to 2014 and as the Chairperson/Host for Annual OCAF Golf Tournament has raised over $150,000.
The Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award was created in 2007 and is given to an LPGA professional who emulates qualities valued by Lopez: Leadership, Passion, Giving, and Approachability. Lopez is a 48-time LPGA Tour winner and four-time Rolex Player of the Year. She was inducted into the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame in 1987 and captained the victorious 2005 US Solheim Cup Team.
Zamboni joined the LPGA Professionals in 1994, and, in 2007, she achieved the LPGA's highest honor by being selected LPGA National Teacher of the Year, which recognized her as the best teacher in the nation. Most recently, Teresa was named to the Golf Digest 50 Best Women Teachers in America list in 2012 and 2010. Zamboni is a certified Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) golf fitness instructor as well as a passionate tournament player, having participated in more than 90 LPGA Professionals sanctioned tournaments throughout the United States. She also participated on the Futures Tour from 1998 to 2001.
