ROGERS -There’s a lot riding on today’s round for Stacy Lewis.

Sunday, the former Razorback and defending champion of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G will try to become just the second to win this event in back to back years, clinch her first title of 2015, and get it all done in front of a hometown crowd.

“I think the crowds are bigger than last year,” Lewis said after her round Saturday. “It’s just cool how the community supports this tournament.”

The crowd helped lift Lewis into contention with a third round 65, making birdie on the closing stretch including the par 3, 17^th known as the Gatorade Loudest Hole on Tour where fans greeted her with their famous hog call.

“I think that cheer on 17 was louder than 18 last year. We’ve got more people out here this year and I love this tournament, I love coming back here.”

Lewis finds herself in a familiar place entering the final round, four strokes back of leader Na Yeon Choi, the same margin by which she trailed Michelle Wie entering the 2014 final round when she fired a final round 65 to win by one.

“I was a couple back last year. So you’ve got to shoot low numbers on this golf course and I set myself up to do it again.”

Lewis is six under on the back nine this week and feels comfortable with her swing despite her struggles this season. This year’s event marks the first time since 2010 that Lewis enters this event without having already won on Tour.

“I think the greens are perfect this year, so I think that’s what you’re seeing in the scores being so good,” said Lewis. “It’s going to take another low one just like last year. But I’ve done it and I can do it, so hopefully just get hot on the back nine again.”

Lewis will have the crowd on her side, teeing off at 1:53 p.m. in the penultimate group with Brittany Lincicome and Mika Miyazato.
