If golf has a power couple, it resides in Texas.

Martin and Gerina Piller are soon to be the only married couple in the world that can claim membership on both the PGA and LPGA Tour in their household. 2016 will mark the second time that’s been the case.

Both Martin and Gerina were rookies on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, respectively, when they got married in 2011 but Martin struggled to find the game that got him there. He lost his card at the conclusion of 2011, and for the last four years he’s been working to get back. He guaranteed he’ll be back on the PGA Tour in 2016 Sunday with his second win of the 2015 season on the Web.com Tour to put him second on the money list and lock up his PGA Tour card.

“I think that’s what makes it so sweet is just because he’s been out there and he kind of lost his game for a little while,” Gerina said. “As a golfer, obviously that’s no fun. I’m sure some doubts have crept in and hats off to him for as much as hard work and dedication as he put in to get back out there and so it just makes it that much sweeter. I couldn’t be more excited for him and his golf game.”

Even sweeter for Gerina was she was finally there to witness it. Each of his previous four career wins on the Web.com Tour, she had been away at her own tournaments and had to rush to her bag after her round to check her phone and see how he did.

“I’ve never seen him win so I’ve never been there. So it was pretty incredible to be with him that week and to see him win and to play as well as he did,” Gerina said. “I definitely learned a lot from it and I couldn’t be more proud.”

She wasn’t necessarily nervous watching. It was more an anxiousness of wanting a win so bad for him while feeling helpless to contribute. She joked after with him that golf may not end up being a family business after all.

“After this last week I told him, I said ‘One day when we have kids, I don’t know if our kids are going to play golf. I don’t know how much more I can take of this,’” she said.

Luckily, her anxiety proved unwarranted on a weekend that he led throughout. When his competitors got within two shots of the lead with two holes to play, he calmly birdied the last two to seal the win up. Although she’s enjoying the best year of her career at 21^st on the money list, she’s hoping what she saw from her husband she can take to her own game and get her first career LPGA win this year.

“You don’t have to be perfect,” Gerina said. “He hit some squirrelly shots but he recovered well. He carried himself phenomenal. He just had this poise about him that it didn’t really matter where he hit it, the next shot he was going to hit great. I think just mainly what I took away from it was just the confidence that you have can make the world of difference. The way you approach every shot with that confidence and you don’t have to be perfect to win a golf tournament.”
