October is a big month on Tour with the final stretch of the 2015 season getting underway next week in Malaysia. But first, here’s a look back at some of the exciting moments that have happened over the years during this same part of the season. #FlashbackFriday
Daniel Wins In Cali
Beth Daniel captured the 18th win of her career in October 1989 at the Konica San Jose Classic at Almaden Golf and Country Club in San Jose, California. Daniel won in the final event of the tournament. Daniel won at 11-under par, one stroke ahead of Pat Bradley.
Annika Wins at Albany
The inaugural New Albany Golf Classic was held in October 1999 and Annika Sorenstam captured the first playing of the event for her 18th victory on the LPGA Tour. She won by 3-strokes ahead of mardi Lunn.
The Pink Panther Tops The Best
The top-20 players on the LPGA Tour in 2008 went head to head at the Samsung World Championship at Half Moon Bay Golf Links. Paula Creamer came out on top in what was the second to last playing of the event, winning her eighth title on the LPGA Tour.
Lorena’s Final Win
At the 2009 Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic, Lorena Ochoa captured her last win on the LPGA Tour, winning the event for the second consecutive year. She won by 4-strokes ahead of Brittany Lang and Michelle Wie. The victory marked her 27th and final win on Tour. Ochoa retired in April 2010.
