Stacy Survives Playoff
Hollis Stacy came out on top in a four-person playoff at the 1981 Inamori Classic. Stacy made birdie on the first playoff hole to defeat Amy Alcott, Donna Caponi and Jan Stephenson.
Another Win for Whitworth
Kathy Whitworth captured her 87th career title on the LPGA Tour at the 1984 Smirnoff Irish Ladies Open. Whitworth won by two strokes ahead of Pat Bradley and Becky Pearson.
Sorenstam Wins Again in Rookie Season
Annika Sorenstam was on a roll in 1995, capturing the third win of the year and third of her career at the 1995 Samsung World Championship of Women’s Golf in South Korea. Sorenstam defeated Laura Davies in a playoff for the victory.
Fukushima Gets Win Number Two
The AFLAC Champions was held during this week in October 1999, where Akiko Fukushima won in Alabama for the second victory of her career. Fukushima won by one stroke ahead of Maria Hjorth (McBride) and Karrie Webb.
Pak Goes Back to Back
Se Ri Pak successfully defended her title in 2002 at the Mobile LPGA Tournament of Champions for her 17th victory on the LPGA Tour. Pak continued the momentum into the next week, winning again at the Sports Today CJ Nine Bridges Classic in South Korea.
