As the Tour gets ready to embark on an exciting stretch of golf with the five-event Asia Swing starting in two weeks in Malaysia, here's a look back at what was happening throughout this stretch of events last year and who came out on top in #FlashbackFriday.
Career Low Round Wins It For Feng
With a career low 63 in the final round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, Shanshan Feng jumped out to a three-stroke lead and captured her fourth career win on the LPGA Tour. It’s hard to believe Feng hasn’t won yet in 2015 with 10, top-10 finishes including a third place finish in her last start at the Evian Championship.
Baek Wins In First Ever Start
Q Baek, formerly known as Kyu Jung Baek, won in her first ever start on the LPGA Tour at last year’s LPGA KEB Hana Bank, defeating In Gee Chun and Brittany Lincicome with birdie on the first playoff hole for the win. A rookie this season, Baek has one top-10 in 2015 with a T-5 at the Marathon Classic.
The World's Best Rise to the Top in Taiwan
World No. 1, 2 and 3 finished atop the leaderboard in Taiwan with Park in the top spot at 22-under par, Lewis at -20 and Ko at -17. The victory marked the third of the season for Park and the 12th win of her career on the LPGA Tour.
A First Win At First Event
Lee-Anne Pace captured the first win of her career in a Monday finish at the weather delayed Blue Bay LPGA. In what was the inaugural event , Pace won by three strokes at 19-under par, three strokes ahead of Caroline Masson. Michelle Wie and Jessica Korda finished tied for third at 14-under par.
Lee Survives Three-Way, Five-Hole Playoff
It took extra holes for Mi Hyang Lee to capture the first win of her career at the TOTO Japan Classic. Lee alongside Kotono Kozuma and Ilhee Lee squared off in extra holes, with Lee making birdie on the fifth playoff hole for the win. Lee has two top-4 finishes this season including a tie for third at the JTBC Founders Cup. She held a share of the lead in the opening round and outright lead after 36 and 54 holes at the Evian Championship before finishing T-4.
