1. Michelle Wie won the 69th U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club’s Course No. 2. It was her second career USGA championship victory, but first since she won the 2003 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links at age 13.
2. This is the 70th U.S. Women’s Open Championship. The inaugural championship, won by Patty Berg, was played at Spokane Country Club (Spokane, Washington) in 1946 and was the only one conducted as match play. This will be the ninth U.S. Women’s Open conducted in the state of Pennsylvania.
3. The youngest winner of the championship is Inbee Park, who won the 2008 championship at the age of 19 years, 11 months, 18 days. Babe Zaharias was oldest winner in 1954 at the age of 43 years, 6 months.
4. Karrie Webb has 20 consecutive appearances (2015 included) at the U.S. Women’s Open, which leads all active players.
