One, Two, Three
The new top-ranked player in the world, Lydia Ko, headlines a field that features 16 of the top 25 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Inbee Park returns to the Tour after missing last week’s event in Taiwan due to a prior sponsor’s commitment when a change to the schedule was made. World No.3 Stacy Lewis is also in the field, coming off a T-34 finish last week after an opening round 77.
Take Two
16 of the top-22 players on the leaderboard who finished T-20 or better at the inaugural Blue Bay LPGA return this year for another shot at the title, including defending champion Lee-Anne Pace. Runner-up Caroline Masson is in the field, as well as Michelle Wie and Jessica Korda who finished T-3 in 2014.
Already A Winner
13 winners from this season are in the field this week, including ANA Inspiration champion Brittany Lincicome, Kingsmill Championship winner Minjee Lee and Anna Nordqvist, the winner of the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Winners with multiple titles this season are also in the field, including Ko, Park, Sei Young Kim and Na Yeon Choi.
CGA
14 players who are also members of the China Golf Association will play in this week’s Blue Bay LPGA, headlined by the LPGA’s own Simin Feng who is also a member. The rookie will make her first start on Tour since August’s Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic where she finished 61st.
Welcome To Asia!
Amy Anderson makes her first start in this season’s Asia Swing at this week’s Blue Bay LPGA. Anderson hasn’t teed it up in this stretch of events since the 2014 Reignwood Pine Valley LPGA Classic, where she finished T-53. Ryann O’Toole is also in the field after missing the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship and Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship. O’Toole finished T-12 at Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, the first event of the Asia Swing.
