DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. June 18, 2014 – Stacy Lewis locked up the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Rankings with her second six-shot victory of the month at the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic, Presented by Acer, to unseat Inbee Park after 59 weeks at the top spot. Lewis, who had previously spent four weeks at No. 1 prior to Park’s reign, regained her rights to the top spot with this win and has been named the Kia Most Compelling Performance for the month of May.

Lewis fired rounds of 67-63-67 at the ShopRite LPGA Classic at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club to finish just one shot shy of tying the tournament record after reeling from 33 consecutive holes without a bogey. Entering the second round five shots behind Jennifer Johnson, Lewis’ second round 63 tied her career-low round to propel her to her 10th career title. Lewis’ triumph on the Jersey Shore came just four weeks removed from her first victory of the 2014 season, another six-shot win in her home state at the North Texas Shootout LPGA Shootout Presented by JTBC.
The 2014 Kia Most Compelling Performance Award winner will be announced at the season-ending 2014 CME Group Tour Championship following an online fan vote which begins October 1, 2014. Performances may include a single tournament, multiple tournaments, single-round accomplishments or record-breaking performances. Winners of the 2014 Kia Performance Awards (listed below) will receive an all-new 2015 Kia K900, the brand’s first-ever luxury sedan, and the official vehicle of the LPGA.
Lexi Thompson earned the award for the month of April after clinching her first major victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Thompson, at age 19, became the second youngest winner at a major with a final-round 68, earning a three-shot win over Michelle Wie and a victory plunge into Poppie’s Pond.
