Wie’s final-round, even-par 70 allowed her to hold off a spectacular final-round push by Stacy Lewis, who shot a 4-under-66 with back-to-back birdies coming in to put pressure on Wie. After a double bogey on the 16th hole shrank Wie’s lead to only one shot, her spectacular birdie created a two-shot lead and allowed for a leisurely victory stroll up the 18th fairway. Wie’s rounds of 68-68-72-70 left her as the only player in the field to finish under par at Pinehurst No. 2.
The 2014 Kia Most Compelling Performance Award winner will be announced at the season-ending 2014 CME Group Tour Championship following an online fan vote (fan voting begins October 1, 2014).
