The Hannaford Community Challenge, presented by Kraft Foods, continued showcasing LPGA Legends during tournament week with a swing exhibition for women and a First Tee of Maine junior clinic this morning at Falmouth Country Club in the greater Portland, Maine area. In addition, the qualifier for the final spot in the 40-Legends field was played and produced a winner. Lori Atsedes of Scottsdale, Ariz., fired a one-under par 71 to earn her shot at competing on the weekend.
Tomorrow's first round play will start at 8:00 a.m. with tee times continuing every 12 minutes until noon. Five LPGA and World golf Hall of Famers are featured in the final three pairings, including Hollis Stacy, Donna Caponi, Pat Bradley, Patty Sheehan and Nancy Lopez. Each of the 20 pro pairings will also include a junior golfer from The First Tee. The juniors will compete in a separate 18-hole tournament for their own trophy while playing alongside the LPGA Legends. Sunday's final round will feature Legends only.
A complete list of pairings is available online at www.thelegendstour.com. Real time scoring will also be available starting at 9:00 a.m. Val Skinner provides a brief analysis of the tournament course and insight into potential Legends winners in a video currently posted to the home page.
