Galloway, NJ (April 28, 2011) - Five of the game's brightest stars have committed to play at the ShopRite LPGA Classic tournament. Crowd favorites and top U.S. players, Rolex Rankings No. 10 Paula Creamer, No. 9 Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis, Morgan Pressel and Brittany Lincicome will illuminate the fairways on the historic Bay Course at Seaview - A Dolce Resort, which is now owned by nearby Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Tournament week begins May 30, with championship play slated for June 3-5, when 150 of the world's best professional women golfers will compete in the 54-hole event, for $1.5M in total prize money. Championship rounds will be televised live on the Golf Channel.
Tour play has been very competitive this year and these top stars have had impressive results. Creamer, the reigning U.S. Women's Open champion, finished tied for second at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup and fifth at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Wie finished second at the Honda LPGA Thailand and finished sixth at last month's Kraft Nabisco Championship. Gulbis finished tied for 18th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and tied for 24th at the HSBC Women's Champions. Pressel finished fifth at the HSBC Women's Champions and tied for third at the Kraft Nabisco. Lincicome finished tied for second at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup and tied for 14th at the HSBC Women's Champions.
