of the LPGA season
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida, June 21, 2011 - The LPGA today announced its first ever app for iPhone and iPod touch is now available on the App Store. Developed in partnership with July Systems, the LPGA Tour App debuts as part of the 2011 Wegmans LPGA Championship where fans will be able to use their mobile phones on the course to track the action and learn about their favorite players.
The LPGA Tour App features live scoring, news, player profiles and tournament schedules as well as YouTube and Twitter feeds from the tour and players.
"As people continue to look to their mobile devices for entertainment, it is important for LPGA fans to have easy access to all the information they need right on their iPhone or iPod touch," said LPGA Chief Marketing Officer Jon Podany. "With the LPGA App, users can now track their favorite players, read the latest news and see live scores on the go."
July Systems provides the cross-platform mobile solution that powers the application. Their cloud-based mobile platform allows the LPGA to build, manage, market and monetize both the mobile website as well as the newly launched mobile application. Their technology provides rich user interfaces and delivers optimized content across hundreds of unique devices ranging from touch-screen smartphones to popular Web-enabled feature phones.
"We are thrilled to have partnered with such a strong brand as the LPGA. It clearly has a loyal and dedicated fan base that understands the value in having such mobile services at their fingertips," stated Kelvin Rowlette, President and GM for July Systems, USA.
