LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Helps Lay Foundation For Future
A love for the game has to start somewhere.
With that in mind, the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program has spent the last 20 years introducing girls ages 7 to 17 to golf. It also has helped many to dream beyond simply hitting balls for entertainment.
For example, three young women who came through the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program in Daytona Beach, Fla., not only took advantage of the learning opportunities in golf when they were juniors, but also used what they learned to springboard their respective career pursuits in the game. More>>
LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Clubs Celebrate 20th Anniversary

In 1989, 20 Girl Scouts in Phoenix, Ariz., gathered for golf clinics to learn to play the game, make friends and, above all, have fun. Two decades later, that modest effort to introduce young girls to the game has evolved into a thriving, nationwide program that's touched more than 60,000 girl golfers from every walk of life. In its 20th anniversary year, LPGA-USGA Girls Golf continues to help girls ages 7 to 17 enjoy the passion, the challenge and the fun of the game. More>>
Congratulations to the 58 current and former members of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf who competed in USGA National Championships in 2009
Girls Golf was well represented in the 2009 USGA Championship season with 8 alumnae competing in the U.S. Women's Open, 21 in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, 25 in the U.S. Girls Junior, and 19 in the U.S. Women's Amateur. To see the complete list of golfers, click here.

New magazine launches for female youth golfers
Golfer Girl Magazine, which made its debut in May 2007, is the first publication created exclusively for female youth golfers. The inaugural issue is 72 pages and will be distributed to all segments of the girls' golf market and to juniors participating in summer tournaments including the Callaway Junior Worlds, the International Junior Golf Tour, national U.S. Kids Golf tournaments, girls attending the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Florida and the Stanford Golf Camp at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
The summer 2007 issue features a cover story about the inspiring 15-year-old golfer, Mackinzie Kline. Every issue will include golf instruction specifically for girls by professional golf instructors Suzy Whaley and John Darling. Other features include interviews with top junior tournament players, as well as young women on the LPGA Tour, and special sections on physical and mental fitness. The magazine will incorporate educational features about the history of women's golf, junior tournament schedules tournament preparation and other topics such as rolling features about women who work in the golf industry - ranging from magazine editors to golf course architects.
