"A chip shot can be described as a putt with a flying start. Gaelle Truitt from the Arizona State Women's Golf Team is going to demonstrate what I mean by this.

When you take hold of the club move your hands down near the bottom of the handle and bring the shaft more vertical like your putter. Now its very easy to make a straight back straight through motion and the loft of the golf club will launch the ball into the air and roll it toward the hole. This is a nine iron being used for a shorter chip shot.

That's good. Let's do one more and this time we will make one little adjustment. Let's move the handle forward just a little bit maybe feel a little more weight on your forward foot and ready to go. Good shot. Now if you want to go to a longer hole, we take a less lofted club such as a seven iron. Set up the same way. Make a nice straight back, straight through putting stroke and again the loft of the golf club will launch the ball into the air and it will roll just like a putt to that far hole.

You too can hole your chip shot if you chip like you putt.
